Exploding whales

It appears that dead whales have a habit of exploding at the most inconvenient times and places.

Exploding whale 1: Nov 12, 1970... on a beach in Oregon USA

The following youtube clip proves once and for all, that deliberately blowing up a dead whale using generous ammounts of dynamite is not a very bright idea. Imagine running for your life while dodging rotten whale blubber chunks? (say that five times fast). I laugh out loud everytime I watch it, but, seriously... it's a miracle no one was hurt (check out the damage to that sweet car).

Theres even a website devoted to that fateful day in 1970: www.theexplodingwhale.com.

Exploding Whale no 2. Jan 12, 2004... on a city street in Southern Tawain

A dead whale was found on a beach in Southern Taiwan. Being more intelligent than their American friends, the Taiwanese people decided to transport it to a local University to be studied. While in transit it suddenly exploded, splattering blood and guts over surrounding shop-fronts, bystanders, and cars (not to mention the poor scooter). Who would have thought?

Just to let you know, I've been writing this while eating dinner. The two activities aren't very compatable.
